Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) is a technique for capturing photographs within the body that uses powerful magnetic fields and radio waves. High-quality pictures of the interior of the body are recorded through a painless, non-invasive process called an MRI scan. MRI scans are frequently used to examine the joints, muscles, nerves, bone marrow, blood arteries, and other bodily systems.

At Skyline Medical Clinic, you often don’t need to be prepared for a routine MRI scan. For some MRI tests, preparation might be required; this will be stated during appointment scheduling and in the email confirming your appointment.
As far as we know, an MRI is a very safe procedure. It does not entail the use of radiation. If you have any metal in your body, including implants, you should let the radiographer know since, in some cases, you might not be able to have the test done.
The MRI scan normally takes up to 1 hour from start to finish. Please be aware that the visit will take longer if you are having more than one body region scanned.
There are no adverse effects associated to MRI itself. As some scans can require contrast medium to be injected, you can experience some side effects which might include a skin rash, dizziness, a headache, and nausea. Before the injection, the MRI team will discuss your concerns to ensure that you have a fully understanding of the procedure.
For a small number of scans, (depending on the region you’re having scanned), you may be asked not to eat or drink anything except water for up to six hours before your appointment. The MRI scanner is a magnet, try to wear comfortable clothing with no metal at all.

Treatments are transferable between clients under the circumstances that the clinic is notified and agreed prior to the client’s arrival. Cancellation policy: all cancellations must be notified more than 24 hours prior to treatment. Failure to do so, will result in charge and loss of session.
